When should I place an order?

Please note: Order forms now close 2 weeks in advance. We recommend placing your order 3–4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. Any orders requested within a 5-10 day period will be considered rush orders, subject to availability and an additional rush fee.

If order forms are closed for your required date, please email info@amys-bake-away.com to check if we can accommodate your order. If availability allows, we'll send you a rush order form to complete and confirm your booking.

How can you contact us?

You can contact us directly through our website or via email, and we typically respond within 24 hours. Please note that while we have social media accounts they are set to Business Accounts, messages sent there go to spam and will be overlooked. How do I place an order/request a quote?

All orders are subject to availability. To place an order, please complete our Cake/Cupcake Enquiry Form on our website (it only takes 2 minutes!) We only accept orders submitted through these forms. Even if you email us, we’ll kindly ask you to fill out the form so we have all the details we need.

Why can't you place an order for your chosen date?

If a date isn’t selectable, it usually means we’re closed, fully booked, or unavailable. We’re sorry for any inconvenience—please check back soon, as availability updates regularly!

Can I see progress updates?

I don’t provide progress photos or updates while your order is being made. I make and decorate each order as close to the collection time as possible, so your cake and treats are as fresh as they can be when you collect them.I also work from the agreed design, colours and details on your booking and trust my own style and creative process to bring everything together. No two bakes I make are ever exactly the same, and part of the fun is getting to see the finished design when you collect it!By booking with me, you’re trusting me to create your order in my own style while staying as close as possible to the agreed theme and details💗

How long do your cakes & cupcakes stay fresh?

Our cakes are best enjoyed within 3–5 days of collection and have to be stored in the refrigerator until needed. For the best flavour and texture, allow your cake to come to room temperature before serving. Our cupcakes are best enjoyed within 1–3 days of collection and are best stored in a cool space in an airtight container. If your preferred collection date isn't available, collecting 1–2 days earlier is often a great option, as both cakes and cupcakes will stay fresh when stored correctly!

Rush Fee Policy

A rush fee is an additional charge for orders needed with less than 10 days’ notice from payment.
It helps cover the extra time, ingredients, and schedule adjustments required to complete your order on short notice.
We appreciate your understanding and always recommend booking early when possible!

What do you mean you're fully booked?

When the website shows no availability or that we’re fully booked, it simply means I don’t have any remaining space in my baking schedule, oven, or cake fridge.I’m a one-woman team, so there’s a limit to how many orders I can take on each week, especially when it comes to the time and storage needed to properly prepare everything.I really do wish I could say yes to every order, but I genuinely don’t have the capacity to take on more at those times. 🤍

What are your pickup times?

We’re currently closed on Sundays, Mondays & Tuesday for custom orders. (Corporate order times can be arranged upon request.)
Pickup times for other days are:
Wednesday–Friday: 11:30 am – 12:00 pm OR 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 10:30 am
We have set pickup times to maintain a healthy work-life balance—just like you! Please arrive on time, as being more than 15 minutes late may affect future order acceptance.

How long should I travel with my cake?

To keep your cake looking perfect, we recommend travelling no more than 45 minutes in a cool, air-conditioned vehicle. This helps your creation stay safe and delicious on the way to your celebration!

Where do you collect your order?

Accepted Answer

Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive an invoice and confirmation with our full address. We're based in Citywest/Saggart!

How long does your products last?

Accepted Answer

Cakes: Keep in the fridge, and they’ll last 4–5 days from collection. For example, a cake collected on Saturday will still be perfect on Monday.
Chocolate Biscuit Cake: When stored in the fridge, it can last up to 2 weeks.
Cupcakes: Best enjoyed within 4 days.

Can I collect my order at a different time?

You’re welcome to request a different collection time, though please note I offer two weekday slots and one on Saturdays. These let you collect either the evening before or the morning of. I don’t offer collections after 6:45pm due to personal and family commitments, and because I run a tight schedule, it’s not always possible to adjust collection times. If you need something within my available slots, feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to help.

Is your food business registered?

Yes! Amy’s Bake Away is fully insured, HSE-registered, and our kitchen is regularly inspected. I also hold a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts Management, so your treats are made safely and expertly!

Can I order a cake with Alcohol on it ?

Alcohol Policy for Custom Cakes
Please note that any alcohol (such as cans or bottles) used in the design of your cake must be supplied by the customer. We typically ask that these items be delivered to us either one week prior to collection or during the week of the event.
 
As a registered and insured cake business, we are legally unable to sell cakes containing alcohol. However, we are more than happy to incorporate your provided bottles or cans into the cake design. For best results, we recommend using empty containers, as they are lighter and easier to work with. If you’d prefer not to supply alcohol, no problem at all! We can create custom edible toppers to match your theme and add a fun, personalised touch to your cake.

Do we make Fresh Cream cakes?

At the moment, we don’t offer fresh cream cakes or cupcakes, but we’d be happy to help you choose from our other delicious options!

Question 19

Do we cater for Allergens?

Accepted Answer

All our cakes contain wheat (gluten), dairy, eggs, and soya, and are made in a kitchen that also uses nut products and fish oil (in some sprinkles).
We do not cater for fully allergy-free bakes and are not an allergy-friendly bakery. You can request gluten-free flour, but we cannot guarantee the product will be completely gluten-free.
If you have any food allergies, we strongly recommend not consuming our products.

Do we do wedding cakes?

While we currently do not offer traditional wedding cakes, we focus on creating vibrant and fun occasion cakes for birthdays, parties, and celebrations.
If you’d like to collect a wedding-style cake from us, that’s absolutely possible! However, we do not provide full wedding cake services such as delivery, setup, or traditional multi-tiered wedding designs.

Coloured Buttercream

Accepted Answer

While every effort is made to ensure our buttercream remains delicious, certain design requests — particularly those involving bold or dark colours — may require higher concentrations of food-grade colouring.
Please note that this can slightly affect the flavour and may temporarily stain teeth, the mouth, or the digestive tract. Strong colours can also cause permanent staining on some fabrics.
As this is an essential part of achieving specific designs, it is considered outside of our control. We appreciate your understanding

White Cakes
Buttercream cakes are naturally off-white due to the butter content. Achieving a pure white is nearly impossible. Our "white" cakes are closer to an off white/ cream colour.

Question 22

Do we cater for gender reveals?

Absolutely! We can offer both cakes & cupcakes with the inside filling coloured pink/blue. All we ask is that we know the colour of the filling a minimum of 2/3 days before your collection date! This can be done by dropping the envelope with the results to us or if you already know and want to surprise family & friends then just email us!
